looking at louis leaving

Before Louis left he gave me a marble paperwight of the earth and said this means a lot to me and I want you to have it. He didn't say why it meant a lot to him or why he wanted me to have it. 

Just before he left, he did pay me a compliment but when I realized the compliment was coming, I turned off my ears because I'm weird like that. I think he said that I was a fighter.

Anyway, on the day he left he said the average life span of a hispanic male is 67, and he was beyond that now. It was time for him to go. He had destroyed some relationships and he wanted to mend them. 

I asked him for a hug and he gave me one.
