In my first year, my hopes and dreams blew up in my face. Despite all the studying, my grades were terrible and none of the profs would recommend me for anything. By contrast, many of my classmates had done quite well on that civ pro test, and said so.
It never got any better. I was a mediocre student all the way through. Probably, I would be a mediocre lawyer who would never help anyone.
My only small comfort was the knowledge that Manfred von Richtofen failed his flight exam twice, I believe, and yet went on to kill a bunch of people.
